Centurion D3/D5 old trouble shooting
This is the predecessor of the Centurion D5 Evo and they did not have an LCD screen interface. The table below shows common troubles and possible solutions.
Motor gate not responding when l press the remote
- Check your remote battery and gate motor battery.
- Check the remote control receiver.
- Check the all the fuses on the control board.
Gate only opens but doesn’t close
- Check the safety beams if they are working
- Check beams wiring to the gate motor make sure the green light marked IRB is on.
Gate opens short distance and stops
- Check you battery for low voltage, loose or dirty battery terminals
- Check the gate wheels if the bearings did not cease.
Motor makes a clicking sound but does not move the gate
- Check the 16amp motor fuse
- Check out for low battery
The gate does not move
- Check that you are , SET light
must be OFF. - Green LCK light should be
ON. - Green IRB light should be ON. Check cabling, and
12V power (3A auxiliary fuse). - (Both TRG and FRX lights
must be off for gate to operate.) - If STATUS light flashes 4 times remove & reapply all power, or
wait 60 seconds to reset operation.
Drive way gate does not move, but the relays “click”
- Motor brushes could be faulty.
- Check the motor wires.
- Check 16A fuse and connections.
- If STATUS light flashes 4 times then the operator is in collision mode
- Check for and remove possible obstructions.
- Remove & reapply all power, or wait 60 seconds to reset operation.
Gate does not move, but the relays “click” and drop out immediately
- Faulty battery.
- Check the battery condition especially if the STATUS light flashes 3 times.
- If the problem persists, the main controller might be faulty.
- Low battery voltage condition
Gate moves a short distance and stops
- Check the battery condition with procedure.
- Low battery voltage condition, especially if the STATUS light flashes 3 times.
- Check out for corroded or loose terminals

Centurion D5Evo / D10 gate motor troubleshooting
This generation of centurion gate motors had an improvement of having an LCD user interface. The screen allows for navigation into the different menus making faultfinding easier. These motors had also improved speed and endurance. Below is the trouble shooting guide.
Multiple pulses on origin
- Sensor positioned too far from the origin magnet.
- Sensor and origin magnet positioned at different heights.
- Incorrect orientation of magnet inside enclosure.
- More than one magnet on gate. Incorrect orientation of origin magnet.
- Incorrect orientation of the electric motor is causing induction.
- Missing pins on origin enclosure. Faulty harness or faulty origin sensor.
Org not found
- The distance is too great between the origin sensor and the magnet.
- The magnet and sensor are mounted at different levels.
- Incorrect orientation of magnet.
- The gate is getting stuck at a certain point before the
- magnet has passed the sensor. Faulty origin sensor
Gate does not open or close
- Beam interrupted.
- Beam test inadvertently enabled.
- IR beams faulty, misaligned or disconnected.
- Damaged Safe Common input
Current sensor fault reading too high/low
- Poor/intermittent motor wire connection.
- Faulty electric motor.
- Controller hardware problem
Doss fault / doss fault disconnected
- DOSS physically disconnected.
- Poor connection on DOSS or controller side.
- Faulty harness.
- Faulty DOSS.
- Faulty controller
Drive fault / motor drive failure
- Intermittent or loose connection between motor and controller.
- The H-bridge on the controller is damaged, possibly a blown FET.
- The electric motor is faulty or has been disconnected
Fuse blown or motor drive fault
- Intermittent or loose connection between motor and the 30A ATO motor fuse has been blown or removed.
- Faulty controller
Gate stalled
- The operator is encountering a fixed obstruction.
- The operator is jammed into an end stop.
- The gearbox is disengaged (D5-Evo/D5-Evo only).
- Loose drive connection (battery or motor terminal).
- Oil in DOSS chamber.
- Faulty DOSS or Sticky motor brushes
IRBC / IRBO safe fail
- The Beam Test feature has been inadvertently activated.
- The safety beam transmitter has been wired to normal common – as opposed to safe common – with the Beam.
- Test enabled, The incorrect operating profile for the region has been selected. The UL325 and CE profiles will always perform a beam test before allowing the gate to run.
- Beams not aligned. Damaged SAF COM input. Incorrect beam wiring.
- Faulty closing/opening beams
Maximum collisions
- The operator is encountering an obstruction and has reached the pre-set number of allowable collisions.
- Gate rack resting on pinion.
- Seized gate wheels.
- The controller collision force is set too sensitive.
- Number of allowable collisions set to a low value, e.g.
- Damaged encoder wheel.
- Tight gearbox.
- Oil on DOSS.
- Faulty DOSS harness.
- Loose drive connections.
- Gearbox not fully engaged.
- Faulty DOSS sensor.
- Faulty electric motor
Centurion smart gate motors troubleshooting
This generation of centurion gate motors have been made easy to diagnose through the Mycentsys pro app. The application has all the manuals and on the dashboard has also the health section that shows the faults on the motor. It normally shows green when all is good and flashing red when there is a fault somewhere. But in general its important to ensure that the actual gate is mechanically sound and slides smoothly.
